My father was a resident at St Winefrides for 7 years until his recent passing. We chose St Winefrides as a final end of life residence after a short stay in hospital. They showed extra care for this emotional time, and made his room lovely for his arrival for end of life. The experience was welcome, and appreciated. They dealt with his needs without hesitation, and I would recommend anyone to chose this as an option at this difficult time.

October 2017

Palliative care - All the staff were amazing during this time. Anna was particularly Lovely and helped us through this time by being open, honest and caring with us and for our Mum. She also managed to reassure us when I could see how much she cared for the residents. Eleonora and Larisa were so kind to our Mum and us. Everyone was very respectful.
My sister and I couldn't be happier about finding and choosing St Winefride's. We visited a lot of care home and chose this one for its professional. caring staff and the lovely garden. We also liked the trips you do to coffee shops, etc and children coming into the Home. All staff were organised and quickly sorted every thing we needed. We noticed the residents always seem calm and content and the staff were positive and caring. I would not change anything and would highly recommend.

Daughter of the Resident; April 2023

We both love the lovely, bright and spacious double room she has – it was recommended for her on the ground floor to encourage her to use the communal areas and activities, which is something she at first was hesitant about having lived alone for so long. Her room is always spotless, laundry and clothes always clean and fresh. She has ample space for these. When I visit all the communal rooms look
lovely and bright and clean. I was really pleased how quickly she felt ‘at home’ and made the decision that she wanted to stay after years of being fiercely independent.

When I visit I feel very welcome by all the staff and the home feels very secure with the booking in and out screen, and a keypad to leave which the staff operate.

Mum loves the way the staff pop their head around the door during the evening to see if she is OK. I think she feels that she has privacy without being alone. She has told me how she is able to seek help in the night which is a great comfort to her.

Mum had lost a lot of weight before moving into St Winefrides but has mentioned how lovely the meals are and she feels she has put on weight. Whenever I visit there is and tea and coffee being served and I notice that she has it served how she likes it without milk.

I attended the Christmas party and was quite overwhelmed by the wonderful atmosphere the staff had created, a lot of effort and preparation had gone into the event and the staff are so kind and caring with all the residents. It was a lovely afternoon and I came away with a great respect for the work you do and the skills you all have in caring for people. I felt quite humbled!

My mum enjoys telling me about the activities she has been involved in – attending the circus, a wedding, going out for coffee and shopping. She says how lovely the staff are and I think that has really helped her confidence and brought a quality to her life.

It was lovely to visit today and find her sitting in the garden, lovely big sun hat on, enjoying tea and having her feet done.

I was really impressed with the recent newsletter – lovely to see pictures and read about events – there always seems to be an event planned for Mum to look forward to.

The staff always keep me informed about any updates, when mum is ill or requires medical attention, and this is really appreciated. My work does not allow me to visit as often as I should, but I am confident that she is in the very best of care. In fact she calls everyone there her ‘new family’.

I was very interested today hearing about the plan for the well being meeting which is really lovely to be invited to. I feel that Mums needs are being monitored and a lot of thought is being put into giving her a quality to life which she did not have previously living alone.
